Can I save money by combining my auto and home?
Absolutely, generally you can save up to 20% or more on the home and 10% on the auto by packaging both your home and auto together. Sometimes you can drive the rate down and save more by adding other policies such as an umbrella policy, boat, motorcylce or RV. Also if you have more than one vehicle you can save more on the quote because of a multiple vehicle discount. The more policies the more you will save in the long run.

I just bought a new vehicle and have not told my insurance company. Am I covered?
Generally you are covered up to thirty (30) days, but you should still notify your insurance company right away. Some restrictions may apply depending on the type of vehicle that was purchased. Call your agent to be sure.

My child is fifteeen (15) and has a permit, do I need to add them to my insurance policy?
By law you do not need to add your child to your insurance policy until they are licensed. Any licensed individuals including family members, relatives or friends need to be listed as operators on the primary policy holders policy. If they are not listed they must show proof that they are insured with another carrier.

My teenager just got licensed, is my premium going to go up?
Boys and girls are rated differently when it comes to driving. Any driver under the age of twent-five (25) poses the greatest risk of causing an accident. Any type of new car, sports car, or SUV would be the most expensive to insure. I would consider purchasing an older vehicle with liability only so you don't have to break the bank. Another option would be if you have more drivers than vehicles is to short rate them on the oldest vehicle or one with liability coverage.

If I have a claim on my auto or home policy who should I call first, my agent or the insurance company?
If you know the claim is going to be below your deductible. You do not need to call anyone. You can settle on the claim yourself. You should always assess the damages first before calling the insurance company. Insurance companies will open up a claim even if you are just making an inquiry only. If you know that your damages to your home or auto are extensive, you should contact your agent first to make sure the claim type is covered and then the insurance company because they will be able to expedite your claim much faster than going through your agent.

If my family goes on a trip will the rental car be covered by my policy?
Yes, your current auto coverage will extend to your rental car. you need to make sure that you have full coverage and check with rental agency to make sure that your limits are high enough. Often what they sell is another type of additonal coverage where if you get in a accident it will not go on your record as long as you purchase insurance through them.
